| Lovely vintage religious print in very attractive original frame with brass mouldings to corners and gilt trim. In soft tones of creams and browns, roses and foliage with the words "I am the way, the TRUTH and the Life: no man COMETH unto the FATHER, but by me" - John.XIV.6. Print measures approx 32cm x 41cm in its frame at widest and tallest points. It has original hooks and fixings to the back and the backing paper shows signs of wear as it is torn around edges but this can be fixed easily with tape and is not visible. | 1930s (undated) Daily Express publication entitled " The Home of To-day -It's Choice, Planning, Equipment and Organisation". Wonderfully hefty book crammed full of 1930s tips, hints, plans and details. Chapters included on choosing a home, furnishings, equipping various rooms, household management, laundry, recipes, children, illnesses, cleaning, management of servants (!), the garden, dressmaking, household repairs - the list is endless. Absolutely fascinating slice of 1930s social history. Book is in overall good condition for age, some foxing to some pages and with 8 black and white plates. Board covers in good condition with gilt lettering and wonderful Art Deco line drawing of house, some wear to base and top of spine. |
| An elegant piece of Art Deco style, Nautilus shell vase made in the 1950's by the Stoke on Trent potteries 'Shorter & Son Ltd', famous for employing Clarice Cliff as one of their designer potters. The vase has beautiful proportions and is lined in a coral pink glaze. Measuring 20cm long x 12 cm high x 4 cm wide. Filled with flowers it would look very handsome indeed. |

| If you put your money on this lovely horse, you may well be lucky! Dating from the 1950's, this is a lovely example of fairground chalk ware in the form of a horse head and horsehoe. A lovely bit of kitsch for the kitchen or equally happy gracing a living room wall. Measuring 14 cm tall and 14 cm wide, with a useful hook on the back for hanging. There are a few tiny chips and some surface marks however, it is still in fine fettle. Definitely a winner! |

| Oh little brown jug how I love thee! This is no ordinary little brown, or not so little, brown jug. It is in fact a lovely large Italian studio pottery jug, decorated with pretty applied daisy like flowers, not dissimilar to the iced gem biscuits that we are so fond of. The jug measures 17 cm tall. Generally in very good condition with just a few tiny flea bites to the glaze around the rim and some minor surface marks.Fill it with summery flowers or a jug of cream to pour on your strawberries. |
| A wonderful vintage Union Jack flag offered in good condition. Measures 28" x 42" approx. Offered in vintage condition (please see photos, ), there are marks on fabric due to age and wearand these are not all over the flag and they do not in any way detract from its charm. Red and blue are still lovely and bright, white is more of a natural linen colour. V slight fraying to one corner and slightly to top and bottom of channel sewn to one side from which flag was hung. Soft cotton/linen fabric. This would look fabulous hanging on a wall, draped over a chair, mannequin or hung from a window, maybe for summer days in the garden. THE perfect vintage accessory (but please not that this is not in pristine condition)! |
| Every home should have one.. or garden at least! These two charming twin chaps are German pottery gnomes, each standing 19 cm tall. They are made from a hollow terracotta, pottery type composition with an over glaze. There are some varying degrees of wear to the glaze but otherwise in very good condition without chips or cracks. They would make ideal bookends or partners to sit amongst your Dahlias! |
| These are really delightful! A charming vintage tin containing 6 metal plant labels and wire tags. To use labels, you simply write on them with a blunt point, leaving an impression on the label. Instructions for use are on inside of tin. As the tin says "The Weather Cannot Destroy Them". Tin has seen some wear, no doubt has been sitting in somebody's old garden shed for a very long time... Tin measures approx 10cm x 4cm. We remember seeing these swining in the breeze from plants at the park... A wonderful tin of gardening treasure. SOLD |
| A truly nostalgic poster dating from 1935, depicting a little boy fishing with a jam jar on a sunny day - truly delightful. Originally intended as a fold out supplement to an educational publication and intended for use in a classroom, this appears not to have been used, showing no signs of pin holes etc. However, please note that is has been folded and is not in pristine condition but is in very good condition for its age. Measures approx 63cm x 47cm. Painted by Joyce Brisley of Milly Molly Mandy fame. |
| Wonderful, complete set (50 in total) of Wills cigarette cards of Household Hints. Issued in 1936, these cards are in very good condition, one card is creased. Featuring many wonderful images and tips for the vintage home, eg how to remove sea water stains from brown shoes, how to "Frost a window", some uses of salt, how to make a barometer, restoring a crushed broom, making a weather-vane and cleaning an old oil painting. These would make a fabulous present or look great mounted all together in a frame. There's really no excuse for any of those odd jobs to be left undone now... |

Published in the 1920s, this copy is in very good condition. Soft covers are bright and in tact and the contents are in wonderful condition too. Fascinating advertisements, road map plans, 15 page introduction to the geography and roads of the area. Ideas of where to stay, garages etc. Gorgeous piece of social history. Time to pack the travel blanket and get behind the wheel... |
